          | This is how I got into Evanescence: I first heard "Haunted" on the PA system at my local Clint's Crazy Warehouse, and fell in love with the chorus, "In my field of paper flowers..." Then I bought "Fallen", fell in love with the rest of the songs (in particular "Hello" and "Tourniquet", tearjerkers!). A good friend of mine somehow got hold of the earlier stuff, so I have a lot of other songs. I purchased "The Open Door" yesterday, and I love it already.

Amy Lee is my idol - the way she paints pain and love in her lyrics and that incredible voice is so inspiring. I'm a would-be lyricist, and a half-decent singer, so she really speaks to me.

Additionally, I'd like to mention to other fans:
Look, obviously I can't give you any advice (seeing as though you already adore this remarkable band) but, if you have trouble relating to "The Open Door", just keep listening! The music feels different from "Fallen", but once you get used to the sounds (I reccomend reading the lyrics before or alongside listening) then you'll find they're still incredible. Of course.
