This is how I got into Evanescence:
my best friend is into singing. I suppose she discovered 'my immortal' and being a hopeless romantic she started singing it to an empty audience while testing microphones the day before she sang at the spring concert. I loved the lyrics and asked her where she heard the song. She pulled out her evanescence Fallen CD and sung 'hello,' off-key but still enough to get me interested. When i burned the CD from her it was only to get 'my immortal' and 'bring me to life,' but when i played the whole thing through the music kinda scared me and i cried. The more i listened to it the more i began to love it like an addictive drug. The sound of Amy's voice took over my thoughts and I found myself crying for another reason...it was the most beautiful, frightening album i had ever heard. I wrapped myself in it's cozy little world and felt myself turning darker. Now she's the most-listened to artist in my CD case. When ever I plug in to one of her songs it's like the words are coming from my own heart and displaying my soul up for the world to see. I can't imagine a life without Evanescence.
Additionally, I'd like to mention to other fans:
man...if you relate with my review above you know you're a true evanescence fan and really believe in the music. My biggest dream now is to meet Amy Lee and talk with her about the music and ask her for advice in songwriting. if you know her, tell her and the band i said keep on making music that we can just love you more for. as if you need more, that is.
