before i even heard or knew who the hell Jason Mraz was, i heard this song on my car radio in late 2002, and wanted to learn more. since then i had been a loyal Mraz fan.
This is the best song ever written. it never fails to make me want to sing along, and play it over and over again

sleep all day. written summer 99 atop my roof watching the planes land over lindberg feild, san diego. d major 7th echoed the pitch of the engines rolling over shadowed on the runway by the cruise ships parked along the harbor, i wanted to round out the progression with an almost love boat sounding quality. i was doing nothing at the time i wrote that song. nothing as in, my days began around four in the afternoon, just enough time for breakfast and the sunset. i felt guilty, but remembered how lucky i truly i had it. what would my parents think? (always on my mind) i thought they'd be proud too. i was doing what i had set out to do and was loving it, doing it well. the song also became a reflection of failed relationships rememebering the good times and that i survived, and an optimistic song about the future from the now point of view that everything gets better on it's own. until then, i'd just sleep all day. that or i had mono.
