My Jewel Story:
I had heard Jewel's song "Who Will Save Your Soul" on the radio, and i liked the song, but i was never a big music fan. I'd just never found anything i really liked. For Christams my mom bought me a three disk cd changer even though i didn't own a single cd. For my birthday my boyfriend bought me Lisa Loeb's "Tails" and i left it at home when i went away to school. I got the chance to see Jewel perform live at a concert just before Chrismas a year ago. I heard her yodel, and fell in love with the sound of her voice. Still, I wouldn't have considered myself a true fan, yet. Then I listened to the cd, "Pieces of You" and decided it was worth buying. It is now the only cd that i have ever bought for myself. Still I wasn't a huge fan. It wasn't until I started finding out about Jewel on the web, and had the opportunity to read so much of her beautiful poetry that i really became i big fan. I am a fan of not only her music, but also everything I know about her philosophy of life. Although I grew up in a very different environment than Jewel I feel that i believe in a lot of the same things that Jewel does, only I've never had the courage to live out that philosophyor the talent to succeed. Thanks Jewel for touching my life.
