This little shell was pounded by the sea
It is true ... you dont know what to look for unless you finally decide to seach for it. Sometimes it is always there you just dont know it is, not until you are educated enough that it ever existed. I realized this when I needed to escape from the city, its hustle and bustle and endless cycle, it could of so easily consumed me. I needed to escape, I needed to get off this giant merry go round, it is so big its hard to see its endless circles because every time u make a full turn, there are different people standing there watching you, but this time they dont know u, or even why u are there. They are just blissfully watching it turn, perhaps watching someone next to you that they know, yet they dont see you, or care that your there. When I got 350 miles away from this place, its screaming planes, trains, trucks and flashing red lights, its resonance was still there echoing inside me like a bad dream... And I was here walking on this beach at the very end of the Road, Homer, Alaska. I just had to get away from it, as far away as I could, I combed the beach looking for an answer, listening to the silence, if I could only put it in a bottle and sell it, I could make a fortune. White rocks caught my eye in all odd elongated shapes and I began collecting them... these were parts of clam shells that had broken and rounded smooth, smooth to almost no recognition, but it is the part of a large shell. After a while of combing the beach I found a shell fully intact yet scored heavily and worn from the waves crashing endlessly upon it day after day year after year.... who knows how long this shell has been here, here until today I noticed it and picked it up. Imagine this shell if it remembered everything, day after day, year after year, being tortured by the endless waves which would come to pass every day... Imagine its agony....then I realized this was me, so I took it home to my merry-go round. Today, i found it on my bedroom floor broken from being stepped on, so i threw it away... far away from its own home. I am sad, forgive me for taking you away from such a perfect place.
I had a dream
I had a dream I carved Jewel's logo into every shell I found, and this is what I lived for. I realize this is just me trying to tell her how much I love her, and all that she represents. Date: 10.24.2001 inspiration: Jewel Kilcher
Born love
Dancing in your song my thoughts hear your persuading the advance this inevitable course Narrowing are the walls to your reality you guide and direct my only way The words that you sing you draw me near away from the safety and into the fear You're pushing me farther than I've ever gone my fear subsides to your gentle song I hear your voice peak and reach a scream as i begin to push through what was a dream Through panic and chaos, tremble, and fear the song you are singing... I hear you here Your arms wrapped around me you kiss my ear I open my eyes and look to you And realize I am forever yours. date: 08.26.01 inspiration: Jewel Kilcher
Lilly Lake
Afraid I was of Lilly Lake But I told noone. Wooden planks spanned her dark abyss of death and hidden secrets between snake grass, moss, and lilly pads I dared to stare into her deep darkness as though if I did I would acknowledge my fear of her giving power over me. I ignored her, and pranced carefully along the spanning planks, carefull not to fall into her evil stare. I remembered when I was with my sisters and friends how we taunted, and teased her. We playfully threatened to push one another into her, how we imagined being devoured into her merky black. We spoke loudly of it, and taunted her with our peering eyes searching into her for her deep dark secrets. We could feel she didnt like it as she stared back to reveal nothing The only thing she ever gave us were our own reflections. We knew something was wrong with Lilly Something harsh unknown within her hiding. Today I am crossing Lilly alone without the comfortable safety of my sisters, and friends. It is dusk and the clouds loom sadness She is watching me... waiting for me to look into her. She wants me to see all of her mystery All of her deep dark hidden secrets But no longer do I wish to know. scampering across the planks with tear filling eyes. I reach the other side every hair on my body standing. date: 10.28.01 Happy Halloween!
I discovered in a dream
I discovered in a dream in the realm of a purple hue sky swimming deep in the ocean depths through the currents of time a way to balance these words with your planets and stars unlocking with perfect harmonic a key to your heart Suddenly you look to me tilting to recognize your orion humming softly, a pinhole of light with blurry edges coming into view a shock of gentle lightening to intrigue your curiosity the knowledge of your ways to tickle your tongue unraveling you slowly with elequent of kissing and sticky skin, our ovens burning for the making of calico children date: 10.30.01 inspired by: Jewel Kilcher
Jewel
Somehow I wanted to tell you about your daughter that spoke with sunshine dripping from her tongue as she proclaimed to teach us how the eagles and sparrows could fly with dandelions in her hand and thistles in her hair date: 10.31.2001 Inspiration: "Dylan" in A night without armor
The Kenai Fjords
She loves him deeply, filling his deepest valleys breaking his ruggedness with her continuous touch His massive architecture strutting from her depths trajecting his rock into the sky, a feathers home. Walrus and seal lay upon him to rest from her bounty She sends her rain upon him, to relinquish and cleanse He feeds his rivers back unto her feeding things Cascading even upon her from his treacherous cliffsides where dall sheep roam the other side of glaciers. She sends her red salmon to search the end of his love but they never return... (I think she knows how much he loves her) she keeps caressing him with her rain mating herself against his black sand beaches and harsh rough edges. date: 11.06.01 Inspiration: Alaska
November 13th
November 13th is here a new breaking day sunshine, blue sky crystals of snow fading away a silver sliver of the moon and venus bright Somethings about to happen I feel it everything is watching even the stars every crystal of snow releasing its spark to partake in its unveiling I want to howl out like a wild carnivor to consume it into my being yet saddened by the demise of life date: 11.13.01 Dedicated to Jewel
