This is how I got into Glen Phillips:
Toad the Wet Sprocket is basically the first way that I was ever exposed to Glen. I was like, somewhere around 14 or 15 years old, and I always liked "All I Want". It was a beautiful song. So, I asked my mom for the album containing that song (obviously "FEAR") and she provided it as a gift for Christmas. It was my favorite album of that time. I instantly fell in love with the elloquence of Glen's writings and the enchantment of the bands music. Pure beauty and feeling. More or less everything that I ever look for in music, now. Glen has shaped my perception of good music. And I am glad.

Additionally, I'd like to mention to other fans:
The world has no idea what it lost when Toad the Wet Sprocket ceased to be. Thank God that Glen is continuing to supply us with beauty. Music is in a sad state, right now, and I am simply happy that Toad left us with all that they did. Let's face it, there is a lot of music created by them, there could never be enough, but still. The writings of Glen have helped me to see the world the way that I do. And I wouldn't want to see it any other way. I am in a band myself, and I wish that he could see how much he has influenced me. I have a feeling that he would be happy to see yet another example of how much he means to someone. Thanks.
